Our Elders

Chris Jones

A Knoxville native, Chris has lived in East Tennessee all his life. Jesus saved him from sin in 2001, he met his wife Tami in youth group (also 2001) and they were married in '05. They put down roots in "SoKno" (South Knox) and lived there almost 15 years. They have been blessed with 6 awesome kids and the whole family loves making music and being outdoors. Chris started his own landscaping business in 2011. He also became an elder in 2018 and was blessed to plant Christ the King in 2021.

Daniel Hoss

Daniel grew up in a Christian home in the Central Valley of California where Christ saved him at a young age. He married his high school sweetheart, April, shortly after graduating college in 2006. They then spent the first 14 years of their married life in the Inland Empire of Southern California where Daniel attended medical school, completed training, and began practicing medicine. Daniel also served as an elder in California beginning in 2012. In 2020, the Lord led him to move his family across the country to Knoxville. At the time of their move, Daniel doubted he ever wanted to elder again, and he was confident he did not want to be part of a church plant, but in the sometimes-humorous way the Lord writes stories, he led Daniel to bring his family to the plant of Christ the King in 2021, and then gave him a desire to elder again. Daniel became an elder at Christ the King in 2022. He and April are currently expecting their sixth child.

Dustin Haddock

Dustin is north Knoxville born & raised, having graduated from high school in Powell. The Lord saved him just before his senior year and he met his wife, Bekah, a few years later in 2006. Dustin & Bekah were married in 2007 and God has blessed them with three daughters & four sons. They love a good laugh, playing board games, and hiking. Dustin is the owner of Haddock & Sons Tree Service, and he became an elder at CTK in 2023.

David Garner

Following a career of 21 years in the Marine Corp, in 2005, our Savior Jesus Christ granted David repentance unto life and eternal salvation in Him. Soon afterward, Dave graduated with a bachelor's degree from Tusculum College and was called to begin seminary at Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. He received his MDiv with a focus in Biblical Counseling in 2011, and is a certified ACBC counselor. David served on staff at a larger church local to Knoxville as the counseling and discipleship pastor some years prior to joining Christ the King in 2022. He then became an elder in 2024. Dave has a desire to see a generation of men rise up and lead their families according to God's design, and for leading people to see the Word of God as sufficient for every sin, addiction, marital problem, and mental health struggle they may face.

He has been married to his wife and best friend Kelly for 40+years and they have two adult children: a son, Chris, who lives in West TN with his wife Lauren and their two children, and a daughter Bekah, whose husband Dustin he serves on the elder board with. He has nine grandchildren he adores.

True to his California roots, Dave is an avid Dodger baseball fan. He loves weekly dinners with family, playing games with his kids & grandkids, and working alongside Kelly on their small homestead.
